910 Minecraft Server - Rules and Overview
Dynmap
The 910 Minecraft Server is for the use of 910CMX Community Members and their friends. For this reason, it is whitelisted, and not open to the general public. Contact Omegaclawe or Celtic Minstrel to be put on the whitelist. This server is not officially affiliated with 910CMX.
While the server has many different areas with different intents, there are a few universal rules:
- Don't be a dick.
- Watch your Language. We're not worried about a few stray swears, but cluster f-bombs are not acceptable.
- Do not build devices that create significant lag. These include, but are not limited to:
- Unnecessarily Large amounts of Boats/Minecarts in a small area.
- Stacks or large amounts of Mob Spawners
- Having an uneccessary amount of Tamed Wolves
- Forcing large amounts of mobs into a relatively small area (e.g. spawn towers)
- Creating blinkers, noisemakers, or other unnecessary redstone contraptions that update often.
- Detonating large amounts of TNT without permission.
- Using Excessively Large worldedit areas.
- Do not use hacks or exploits to gain advantages over other players of the same rank.
- Do not break or place bedrock.
- Do not exceed or attempt to exceed the bariers on the world.
- Do not claim excessively large areas of real estate without making good use of it.
- Do not create an excessive number of listed warps.
- Do not activate creative mode in the nether.
This list is not exhaustive, and subject to change at any time. If you are unsure as to any of these, please contact an admin with specifics.
Mods
We are running the Bukkit server mod with a small collection of plugins. If there is a mod you'd like us to install, feel free to ask in the chat room. We'll likely say no, but there's always a chance that we won't. However, before requesting a mod, keep in mind that if it doesn't meet all of these criteria, there's pretty much no chance it will be accepted:
- It must be a Bukkit plugin, ie available from the Bukkit plugin search. This means absolutely no mods from the Minecraft forums, though if you can find a Bukkit plugin that does the same thing we might consider it.
- It must not require the Spout plugin to function, either directly or indirectly. It's fine for it to have optional Spout features, but keep in mind that since we don't run Spout, those features won't be available if we do agree to install it.
The Worlds
Main (world)
This is the default world. There are no monsters, but animals do spawn. It uses the default terrain generator, and is open to creative building per your fancy. It has a few additional rules.
- Do not damage or block the spawn area in any way, shape, or form.
- Do not build ugly or unsightly constructs anywhere near spawn, or within visual range of other people's structures.
- Do not build prototypes, or unfinished features. Structures built in this world should be a finished product and should make some attempt at being aesthetically pleasing.
- Do not build on, within, or too close to other people's structures without permission. How close is too close depends on the available real estate. Close to spawn, a few blocks of clearance may be enough, but near the edge of the world, structures should not even be within visual range of each other.
- Do not damage, change, or otherwise effect other people's structures without permission. If you must do some building to view the inside, make absolutely sure to revert it to exactly how it was before leaving.
- Do not kill, or attempt to kill, any player without their express permission.

WARNING: World will be affected by the 1.9 Update! Structures may be lost! Build at your own risk!
world_nether
This is the nether attached to the main world. It has monsters, and can be used for fast travel. It is subject to many of the above rules, though structures may be built rather close to each other to make up for the small area available.

Survival (pvp)
This is the "suvival" world, meaning only admins have access to anything not available in vanilla survival mode. Admins are not allowed to use them for anything but rule enforcement and maintaining the spawn area, however. Feel free to greif and kill other players to your hearts content, so long as the spawn area is kept clear and safe.
Also, please do not use clientside mods or texture packs to look through walls. There is little we can do to detect it, but it is very agaisnt the spirit of this world.

Surival Nether (pvp_nether)
The Nether for Survival. Subject to the same rules and regulations.

City (Cityworld)
This world is an attempt at having a large, player-made city. There are no "resources" under the city, but everyone has access to the item command. It is subject to the same rules as the main, with a few additions:
- Structures must be aesthetically pleasing.
- Structures may be built on any open, unclaimed plot of land.
- Structures are not to be built upon the road if it can at all be avoided.
- Structures larger than one city block must have a 6-block wide cobblestone road around them.
- Structures must have the appearance of being able to survive the laws of physics. (e.g. Nothing that just "floats", or is clearly too large to be held up by its supports.)
- Structures must not take up more area than is necessary. Building a large fence around a small house is excessive.
- The area immediately above the canal must have enough clearance to conceivably allow boats through. Nothing lower than the "Eye in the Sky".
- This is not the area to test or experiement. There is a world for that, and it is also flat.
Accessible From: Main, Survival, Old, Testing Grounds
Tesing Grounds (testgrounds)
This world exists so you can build prototypes, and experiement upon things in an open area. it is perfectly flat. Structures here should not be considred permanent, with the exception of the spawn area and the portals. Do not be surprised if an experiment goes horribly wrong and destroys your own.
- Do not destroy structures that appear that they may possibly be under use. This includes as an example for others to build from.
- Do not attempt to kill others without their permission.
Accessible From:City, Old
Old World (Old) [DEPRECIATED]
This is the original "main", from before the changes to the terrain generator. It exists for legacy purposes. It it subject to all the rules of main, with the following additions:
- Do not build any new structures. Finishing old ones is fine, but new ones should be built in other worlds.
- Do not approach the edge of the map. It will break things.
